Steven Holl
Steven Holl was born in 1947 in Bremerton, Washington. He studied architecture in Washington, and furthered his education in Rome and London. He founded his practice, Steven Holl Architects, in New York in 1976.
Holl has received several prestigious architectural awards. He has written extensively about architecture, and worked as a teacher in several universities. His designs have been presented in architectural exhibitions and numerous publications throughout the world.
Holl's latest realised major projects include Makuhari Housing in Chiba, Japan, the Cranbrook Institute of Science in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, USA, a residential quarter in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and the Chapel of St. Ignatius in Seattle, USA.
