Charles Sandison’s words set off on a life of their own.
Charles Sandison chose words as the starting point for his computer-based art because that is least expected of the computer graphics mostly associated with the game industry and multimedia. Sandison’s works are based on computer programs similar to those with which meteorologists predict the weather and economists the fluctuation of stock prices. Every viewer gets to see the work in a different phase and form. The end result is beyond the artist’s control.

His minimalistic looking works often comprise contrary words or pairs of words struggling for survival, multiplying and interacting. Patterns reflected on space form virtual scale models of the multiplicity of societal structures and human behaviour.
