| TRACKING TRACES… collection exhibition27.03.2009 - 14.02.2010
2nd and 3rd floors
The exhibition Tracking Traces… examines people, nature and culture through a variety of traces. Metaphorically, it studies tracking and positioning as a kind of expedition. Traces can be found near and far, from the human body to imagery of advertising and urban space. Traces may be deliberately or accidentally created marks or imprints that we leave and meet every day. Tracking Traces… comprises three sections: smudge, barcode and imprint. > Read more |
OLA KOLEHMAINEN: A Building is not a Building4th floor26.02.2009 - 26.04.2009
Architecture is the subject matter of Berlin-based photographer Ola Kolehmainen’s art. Instead of merely documenting it, he crops and brings forth interesting and surprising details. The name of the exhibition implies that in Kolehmainen’s photographs a building is not primarily a building but a fabric of colour, light, shapes, surfaces and depth, repetition and composition, an expedition to the image. Later in the year, the exhibition will travel to Denmark and England. > Read more |

| Ivo Dimchev: Lili HandelMoving in November04.11.2009 - 05.11.2009
Kiasma-theatre
Tickets 20/15 eur
Lili Handel by Ivo Dimchev is a last cry of a grand diva of variety. A talk-show from the end of the world, complete with broken down show numbers, a tour de force of a performance which crosses borders becoming a buto performance, a striking falsetto concert or live art practice. Lili Handel is not seeking rest, but travelling through all his/her pains in an effort to express our existence. This performance is shocking in it's intensity, truly a roller-coaster ride without safety belts. Ivo Dimchev is a choreographer and performer from Bulgaria, who now resides and works in Holland. 2008 The Award of the French Critics for best performance of the year for "Lili Handel" 2005 The Award of the International Jury of the Critics for Best Actor in "Lili Handel" at the MASK festival Duration: 50 min Language: English http://www.movinginnovember.fi/ > Read more |
