Pixelache is a festival of electronic art that started in 2002. The variety of art forms is wide: festival clubs, performances and workshops have included interactive film, VJ culture, music produced by electronic junk and media tools of activists, among other things. Pixelache aims to create encounters between the grassroot-level community and representatives of art, science and the corporate world. It is guided by a cheerfully experimental, yet critical viewpoint to new audiovisual media and technologies. This year's programme contains performances, concerts, club events, installations, seminars and workshops.

This year, Pixelache events in Kiasma include an experimental audiovisual performance by Artkillart, a label based in Paris and Berlin. Alternative Economy Cultures -seminar organised by Andrew Paterson explores the relationship between network cultures and economics. An exhibit about Capsula's cross-discipline art adventure to Siberia, the land of the eclipse, will be opened in Kiasma's Mediatheque. The aim of Capsula is to experience and explore natural phenomena through artistic inquiry and to invite artists and scientists for collaboration. In parallel, Capsula wants to revive leisurely and ecological traveling experiences.
