Lecture: Take The Square
For the past few years, Oliver Ressler has worked with movements that oppose globalisation. He focuses on the occupation of public squares, in particular the Occupy movement, which can be seen as a reaction against growing social inequality and the decline of democracy. A succesful occupation of a public space often serves as an inspiration for similar movements in other cities, yet without any direct contact between the two.
Free admission.

Workshop: Alternative Economics, Alternative Societies

In the 200s, the word ´alternative´no longer refers to socialism as it did in the previous century, embracing instead a broad range of counter-strategies, initiatives and models. Featuring extracts from videos, the workshop examines the question of what kind of debate is needed to achieve socual and political change.
